Thank God at all times, and for everything!

My Keeper

Psalm 121 is one of my favorite Bible verses. In fact, I've already memorized it and it has become a part of my regular prayer.

I was reminded of it this afternoon inside the MRT. A mom and her infant sat across from me so my attention was drawn to them. Baby was in a carrier (baby-wearing) and facing her mom. Mom was making funny faces and it made me smile.

I looked away for a moment and when I glanced at them again, mom was dozing off. I could see that her child was wide awake and feeling secured, loved, and contented. 

This particular scene brought to mind our awesome God. Just like that baby, we too have a Father who watches over us and makes us feel secured and loved. But unlike us who need to sleep or nap, He doesn't slumber nor sleep. His eyes are always on us!

He is Thinking of Me

Thank You, Lord, for Your guidance and faithfulness. Thank You for Your concern about my well-being and for thinking of me.♡

Trusting God

God is sovereign. He formed us and knows what's best for us. So let's heed His call and abide in His Word. Always be assured that God will be with us through the rest of our life's journey.

Words We Speak

My takeaway from reading The Power of a Praying Parent (Stormie Omartian) today: "The best way to improve speech is to improve the heart."

May God's love, joy, peace, and the truth of His Word fill our hearts so that what we say brings life to us and to those around us.

Be Strong in God

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1)

Doing Right

We may have countless trials in this world, yet let's continue to do what is right!

Searching for the Truth

Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. (Acts 17:11)

Who We Are Inside

Be Encouraged

Be strong in the Lord and in His awesome power!

God is Mindful

He loves. He knows. Yes, he does!

God Can Use You

Yes, God can use anyone - even you. So be available.

Bearing Fruit

May the Holy Spirit water them (that is, the seeds that we planted the past weeks) anew everyday so that we bear fruit.

So let's live by the Spirit and keep in step with the Spirit. (Galatians 5:25)

Cultivating Self-Control

If you don't want to be robbed of peace and joy, make every effort to cultivate self-control.

Showing Gentleness

Speak evil of no one, avoid quarrelling, be GENTLE, and show perfect courtesy toward all people. (Titus 3:2)

May this verse encourage us to be gentle on all occasions, not toward friends only, but to all men. Remember, nothing is won by force.

Be Faithful

I remember reading an article about Mother Teresa where she was visiting "House of Dying" with Mark Hatfield. She was asked how she could bear the load (that is, caring and ministering for the poor and the sick children) without being crushed by it, she replied, "My dear Senator, I am not called to be successful, I am called to be faithful."

Like Mother Teresa, may we be faithful to God, to the people He sends our way and to the talents, time, blessings and opportunities He's given us - no matter what.

On Doing Good

"A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart."  - Luke 6:45

May God's Word grow in our hearts so that we may be fruitful in every good word and action.

Choosing Kindness

"Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, KINDNESS, humility, gentleness, and patience." (Colossians 3:12)

Yes, we are encouraged not only to do no harm to anyone, but to do good to everyone. 

Be Patient

Don't slow down. Keep on doing good despite hardships and trials. And if you're waiting for God to answer your prayers, wait expectantly. Trust Him that in His perfect timing, He will bring things to pass. God is in control! He stands by you!

Sowing and Reaping

Don't be misled--you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. (Galatians 6:7)

"We shall reap, as we sow now." What a timely reminder! God sees our hearts and our actions. Thus, let nothing or no one hold us back from loving God and doing good - now!

Choosing Quietness

Like me, I know that you, too, would rather share SkyFlakes crackers with a friend while chatting happily and peacefully than eat filet mignon steak and fighting.

This verse is a good reminder on choosing a harmonious and loving family or relationship over selfishness, discontent and resentment that can ruin relationships.

May God's peace reign in our hearts today and everyday!

Made Weak to be Strong

Each time he said, "My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. (2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT)

God sometimes make us weak (or humble) so that His strength can shine through us and in us. Trust God that He will bring good out of it. If you're one of those whom God is using to show His power, hang in there and continue praying!

A Joyful Heart

A joyful heart makes a cheerful face, But when the heart is sad, the spirit is broken. (Proverbs 15:13)

Do you notice that when our heart is happy, we lift our heads up with gladness too? So let's start our week with a glad heart no matter what our circumstances are. Remember the saying, "life is what we make it". Yes, our attitudes and outlooks matter a lot!

Lead Justly

I'm reminded today to pray for our leaders that they will rule with righteousness and fear of God so we will have a fair and upright government.

Free Peace and Order

For God is not a God of disorder but of peace, as in all the meetings of God's holy people.  (1 Corinthians 14:33)

Dear God, You are a God of order and peace. Today, I pray that You help me put my life and priorities in order. Thank You for restoring order to my life. Thank You for Your peace. Thank You, Jesus.

Seeds of Love

Let's plant seeds of love in our life and in the lives of others today. They will surely grow. Remember, love never fails (1 Corinthians 13:8)!

May God's love flow through us to others today and everyday!

Standing Strong in Jesus

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. (Luke 10:19)

Dear Lord, we praise your name! Thank You for giving us all authority over our enemy. Instruct us in using that authority to beat him in all aspects of our lives. Thank You, Jesus.

There's a Way Out

The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. (1 Corinthians 10:13, NLT)

Thank You, Lord, for matching my burdens with my strength. Still, I need You! I put my faith in You and cast my burdens on You. Thank You, Jesus.

Happy Mother's Day

Let's take God at His Word. Yes, He loves you.

Lesson On Loving Others

Love your neighbor as yourself. (Romans 13:9)

Let's choose to love our neighbor everyday - even when it's sometimes difficult. 

The Gift of Work

Thank you, Lord, for Your favor and grace everyday. Thank You for the gift of work. You are a great God! Show me how to bring my work in line with Your will and purpose for my life. May the work of my hands be always pleasing to You. May it give me success and fulfilment. Today, I entrust my work into Your hands. Be Lord over my life and my work. Thank You, Jesus.♡

There's No One Like Our God

Like Hannah who praised God for answering her prayer (she prayed for a child and God gave her Samuel), we too can praise God for who He is and for what He's doing in our lives.

Dear Lord, You are great, You are holy, You are majestic! No one else deserves our praises. There is no one besides You - our one true and living God. You are our shield, defence, fortress, deliverer and Rock. We praise Your Name, mighty God! Thank You, Jesus.
